Who we are

Amritao is a skill-swap app run in London. We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration CSN9733197. Questions about your data: hello@amritao.com.

What we keep

Your email address, so you can sign in with a code.

Your profile: name, photo, postcode area (only the first half, like N16, never your address), the skills you offer and are looking for, your bio, links you add, and your portfolios.

The words you write about yourself when you sign up. These are private: nobody else sees them. We use them only to suggest better matches.

Your chats, requests, offers, exchanges and reviews.

Reports you make, and feedback you send. If someone reports you, we keep the report too.

Why

To run the app: show you to other members, find your matches, and let you message and exchange. (Legal basis: the agreement between us when you join.)

To keep people safe: look into reports, and suspend accounts that break the rules. (Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe community.)

Who can see it

Only approved members see your profile, photo, skills, portfolios and area. Messages are only seen by the people in that chat.

We never sell your data, and there are no adverts.

Services that help us run Amritao: Supabase (our database and photo storage, in London), Resend (sends the sign-in emails), Expo (delivers app updates), Apple and Google (app stores). When the AI helper is switched on, what you type to it is sent to Anthropic to answer, and isn't used to train their models.

How long

As long as you have an account. Delete your account (Settings → Delete my account) and your profile, photos, skills, portfolios and messages are deleted. Reports about safety may be kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: email hello@amritao.com. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Amritao is for people aged 18 and over.
